Got the engine bay assembled ready for the engine and box to go in

Test fitted the seat and tweeked the mounts to suit the MINI’s OEM bolting positions

Initial testing complete. Back to the bat cave and Barry from Sign It graphics came by and started on the series graphics. He also brought some of the carbon effect vinyl he used on the handles to add some detail to the front bumper.

Now working flat out on building up mine for this Saturday.

Saturday we took the car out for its first shake down on the TrackScotland trackday at Knockhill.

Perfect conditions; cold, dry and sunny.

Car ran great with a few niggles that needed sorted. In between sorting a few things we did 120 miles of running in, no full throttle and limited to 6000rpm. Averaged a not bad 16.7mpg as well.

Back in the workshop, time for some graphics with Barry from Sign It doing the business

So we took Sara through to Tynecastle Garage for initial set up last night and got her on the scales

In end of race trim (car, driver, 5 litres of fuel) she weighed in at 966kg. Minimum weight is 1075 including driver so we’ll be needing some ballast then!
